Addiction and Mental Health, Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment A vast number of people who are suffering from addiction also suffer from one or more forms of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and schizophrenia. At A Center for Addiction Recovery, each client is given a thorough medical exam and nursing assessment upon admission. If a clients’ addiction is compounded by mental health issues, we offer a complete psychiatric evaluation and appropriate psychotropic medications, which is based on assessment performed by licensed medical psychiatrist. Our licensed psychiatrists , on average, have over 15 years of experience in the field of addiction and dual diagnosis disorders. For clients with a “dual diagnosis” (suffering from addiction and a mental health disorder) a comprehensive treatment program is designed to address both issues.

  • Collect information on family history whenever  possible

  • Do a risk assessment to include risk of self-harm, self-neglect, risk of violence to others and risks from others, including exploitation
