Addiction Treatment Facilities in TennesseeIn Tennessee, 202 substance abuse treatment facilities were included in the 2010 N-SSATS, reporting that there were 17,451 clients in substance abuse treatment on March 31, 2010. The survey response rate in Tennessee was 94.7%.

According to the 2010 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) annual surveys, the number of addiction treatment facilities in Tennessee was 202. Of these, 51 were private for-profit and 143 were private non-profit. The remainder were owned/operated by federal, State or local government(s).

Although addiction treatment facilities in Tennessee may offer more than one modality of care, in 2010 the majority of treatment facilities (163 or 80.7%) offered some form of outpatient addiction treatment. Another 66 facilities offered some form of residential addiction treatment, where 42 offered short term care and 57offered long term addiction treatment, with 25 of these residential addiction treatment facilities offering detoxification. There were 8 facilities offering opioid treatment programs in Tennessee with certified physicians providing Methadone and Buprenorphine treatments.
